Football forecast for the second round of Euro 2012

Football battles of Euro 2012 continue. The first games seemed to be tense and, as it is usual for such tournaments, they were full of surprises. Who would have thought that Poland could stand the Greeks, and Denmark would take their 3 points from the Dutch national team? The list of major unexpected happenings is completed by the match Spain vs. Italy, in which the Spaniards — the current World and European champions — could not beat the uncompromising Italians.

But this is what we love football for — its intrigue. Real game may end completely illogically. Yet the experience of fans of our online panel InPoll proves that it is possible to predict the winner of every second game at least (they matched the winners of 4 out of 8 pairs of teams).

It is interesting that fans were able to predict even the final score of the match Ukraine vs. national team of Sweden 2:1. National team performance is always interesting. And Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted a survey of football fans through online panel InPoll regarding on the results of the first round and predictions for the second round of Euro 2012. There were polled 350 fans.

The vast majority (90%) of fans consider the performance of Ukrainian national team to be good or rather good. Naturally, the best player of the match appeared to be Andriy Shevchenko (77%). Fans also marked Eugene Konoplianka (4%), Andriy Voronin (3%), Andriy Yarmolenko (3%) and Andriy Pyatov (3%).

We also wondered which team performance was the best of all in the first round of the World Cup.

Half of the fans believe that it was national Russian team to be the best (50%). Half as many marked Ukrainian national team performance (25%). The top five included also Croatia (6%), Germany (5%) and Denmark (4%).
