NEW SURVEY: PARTY OF REGIONS IS A LEADER — ECONOMICAL PROBLEMS AND STABILITY ISSUES PREVAIL

September 21, 2012
Kyiv, Ukraine

According to the published data of AlphaVu and the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, Ukrainian voters are most concerned about economic issues and preservation of stability in the country. 54% of respondents said that stability in Ukraine is their main concern. Ukrainian voters pay a lot of attention to creating jobs and increasing of wages and social benefits.

Party of Regions is by 8% ahead of "UDAR headed by Vitaliy Klytschko" and by 9% ahead of the United Opposition. Party of Regions would get 22% of votes, while "UDAR headed by Vitaliy Kytschko" would get 14% of votes and the United Opposition — only 13% of voters’ support. The Communist Party of Ukraine would have taken the fourth place with a score of 9%, Ukrainian Nationwide Coalescing "Svoboda" would receive 4% of votes, "Ukraine, go ahead!" — 3%. There still remains uncertainty concerning the place of "UDAR headed by Vitaliy Klytschko", since increase of support of the party could be explained either by a real trend or by recent representation of the party leader in the media (the largest number of interviews was conducted immediately after the victry of Vitaliy Klytschko). The answer to this question will follow-up with more surveys.

The survey was conducted during the period of September 1–18, 2012. In general, 2.024 respondents aged 18 years and older were interviewed all over the country (interview was conducted in language, onvenient for the respondent). Sampling error (without design effect) does not exceed 2.2%.
