Press-release prepared by Liana Novikova.

email: l.novikova@kiis.com.ua

From October 9 to October 19, 2014 the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted All–Ukrainian poll of public opinion. There were interviewed 2040 respondents aged 18 and older, living in 110 localities of all Ukrainian territories (including Kiev), except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Lugansk region according to statistical selection. The selection is representative for the population of Ukraine aged 18 years and older.

The statistical error of selection (with probability 0.95 and at design–effect 1.5) doesn't exceed the following: 3.3% for indicators which are close to 50%, 2,8% – for indicators which are close to 25%, 2,0% – for indicators which are close to 10%, 1.4%  – close to 5%.

The question «How do you find out news about the situation in Ukraine? Please, specify three main sources» 83.5% of the population of Ukraine indicated that the source of such news for them is the Ukrainian TV, for 31% it is Internet sites, for 29% it is relatives and acquaintances, for 21% it is Russian television, for 29% it is Ukrainian newspapers and magazines, for 16% it is Ukrainian radio, for 11% it is social networks, blogs and for 2% it is Russian newspapers and magazines, for 1% it is Russian radio.

Trust Ukrainian and Russian TV

22 percent of Ukrainians completely trust the Ukrainian TV, 59,5 percent - trust only partially, 14 percent - don’t trust at all (4,5 percent undecided).
