Kyiv International Institute of Sociology conducted their own poll during the February 8-17, 2013. 2032 respondents were interviewed; survey covered all regions of Ukraine (including the city of Kyiv) and Crimea; sample was random and representative for the population of Ukraine aged 18 years and older.

Statistical sample deviation (with probability of 0.95 and design-effect of 1.5) does not exceed:

3.3% for index close to 50%,

2,8% — for index close to 25%,

2,0% — for index close to 10%,

1,4% — for index close to 5%.

Respondents were asked as follows: "Do you believe that Y. Tymoshenko organized a contract killing of Y. Scherban?"

The study found that the vast majority of the population of Ukraine, namely 76%, do not believe that Yulia Tymoshenko ordered the murder of Yeugene Scherban, 24% of respondents believe in such possibility. 

The answers to this question show that:

• In all regions of Ukraine the majority of the population does not believe that Y. Tymoshenko organized a contract killing of Y. Scherban. The vast majority of those who believe in possibility of ordering the killing is concentrated in Eastern and Southern regions (37% in each region); but the number of those who do not believe, is much higher (64% in the East and 63% in the Southern region). The vast majority of those who do not believe in such a possibility lives in the West (90%) and in the Central (87%) region.

• There is no such party, most of whose followers believe in ordering a killing. The biggest part of those who believe in the possibility of ordering the murder by Yulia Tymoshenko, is among the electorate of the Party of Regions (41%), but more than half of the supporters of the Party of Regions does not believe in such a possibility (59%). Also among the supporters of the Communist Party of Ukraine the biggest part does not believe in the possibility of order of a killing (63%); 37% of the electorate of the party do believe in the above. The largest number of those who do not believe in the possibility of order of a killing is  the electorate of oppositional parties: Political Party Ukrainian Nationwide Coalescing "Batkivschyna" and Political Party "Front of Changes" (96% each),  Political Party Ukrainian Nationwide Coalescing "Svoboda" (92%), this number is somewhat less among supporters of Political Party “UDAR” headed by Vitaliy Klychko (85%).

• The number of those who do not believe in the possibility of ordering the murder by Yulia Tymoshenko is slightly bigger among women than among men (78% vs. 75%); 25% of men and 22% of women admit such a possibility.

• The older respondent is, the stronger his confidence in possibility of such an order of a killing is. The smallaes number of believers is found among young people aged 18-29 (21%), the biggest one among people aged 60-69 years (27%). The biggest number of non-believers is found among youth and middle-age people age 18-29 years (79%) and 30-39 years (78%).

• In terms of level of education there were found no significant differences.
