The views and opinions of the Ukrainian population, January 2006

The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology conducted a survey of the adult population of Ukraine in the period from January 18 to January 28, 2006.

The selection was stratified random and representative for the population of Ukraine aged 18 years and older. The statistical error of selection without the design effect of the probability of 95% does not exceed 2.2%. Research method - personal interviews. There were interviewed 2017 respondents aged 18 and older, living in 110 villages, towns and cities in all regions including Crimea and Kyiv, by four selection at each stage.

Statistical error of selection with a probability of 0.95 does not exceed:

• 2.3% for the indicators close to 50%,

• 2,0% for the indicators close to 25% and 75%,

• 1,5% for the indicators close to 12% and 88%,

• 1% for the indicators close to 5% and 95%,

• 0.5% for the indicators close to 1% and 99%,

• 0,2% for the indicators close to 0.2% and 99.8%.

The theoretical value of the statistical error without taking into account the design effect; for most indicators the impact of design effect used in the survey stochastic selection increases the error not more than 1.5 times.
