Social and political attitudes of the residents of Ukraine: June 2018

Major results:

 

  • 83.7% of the Ukrainians do not like the direction in which Ukraine is moving, 11.2% are satisfied with it.
  • 47.3% of the Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should go the direction of integration with the European Union. With 11.9% of the population, it is believed that Ukraine should choose the direction of joining the Customs Union. Another 30.1% of the Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should neither focus on joining the EU nor the Customs Union.
  • In the referendum on joining NATO, 41.1% of all Ukrainians would vote “for”, 30.7% - "against".

How the Ukrainians plan to spend vacations, may, 2018

The study showed that as of the second half of May 2018. 64% of the Ukrainians do not plan to have a rest. Compared to 2017. this number has increased (it was 59%). The number of those who have no opportunity to go somewhere is 22% (and it was 24%).

A visa-free regime begins to influence the plans of the Ukrainians to go for the rest abroad. This year, 4% of respondents answered this way; this number did not rise above 2% during many previous years.

Migration intentions of the population of Ukraine in April 2018

According to a recent KIIS poll, 7% of adult Ukrainians plan to go abroad in the next six months for the long-term stays, work, study or emigration, but most of them have not taken any concrete steps for this yet. The most popular country among those who want to leave Ukraine is Poland.

Social and political attitudes of the residents of Ukraine: April 2018
  • 45.9% of the Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should go in the integrational direction of joining the European Union. It is believed that Ukraine should choose the direction of joining the Customs Union - 8.9%. Another 31.6% of the Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should focus on joining neither the EU nor the Customs Union.
  • 41.4% of the population support the accession to NATO, and 37.8% do not support it.
  • 75.3% of the Ukrainians believe that Ukraine's leadership is taking the country in the wrong direction, 10.4% believe that the country is moving in the right direction.

Eating out of the home tendencies among the Ukrainians, February 2018

The majority of the Ukrainians continues to eat at home. Over the past month, 30% of the adult population (51% among people under 40 years, only 17% among the people aged over 40 years) consumed food that was prepared outside the home. Residents of Ukraine prefer "democratic” catering establishments. The leaders are cafe or bistro, that account for 40% of recent visits, only 9% of the population visit restaurants.
