The famous historian and writer Timothy Garton Ash wrote an article for The New York Review of Books entitled "Ukraine in Our Future", in which he draws attention to geopolitical tensions in the region. The article widely uses data from the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology. Garton Ash notes that Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the subsequent conflict in eastern Ukraine only increased the West's interest in Ukraine's future. He claims that the importance of Ukraine for the event is not only strategic, but also moral, since the country is fighting for the construction of democracy in the conditions of Russian aggression.

Announcement of the presentation of the research "Civil society during war - 2022". 

 When: February 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

 Format: combined offline in the city of Kyiv and online.

The research was conducted by ISSA Ednannia in partnership with the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology within the framework of the project "Initiative of Sectoral Support of Civil Society of Ukraine", which is implemented by ISSA Ednannia in a consortium with the Ukrainian Independent Center for Political Research (UNCPD) and the Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law (CEDEM) thanks to sincere to the support of the American people, provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).    

The main goal was to study the state of civil society in Ukraine during the war, in particular to study the experience of adaptation and work of public and charitable organizations, as well as volunteer and humanitarian initiatives after a full-scale invasion.
