Attitude of the Ukrainians toward national holidays

The research showed that, in general, the Ukrainians treat holidays with love and respect, only 2% of respondents do not treat any of the holidays as important and favorite.

 

OnFebruary 5-16, 2016 KyivInternationalInstituteofSociologyconducted own public opinion poll.

Sample consisted of 2020 respondents who live in all regions of Ukraine (including Kyiv) and in Crimea, and were surveyed through personal interviews. Sample is stochastic and representative for population of Ukraine aged 18 and above.

Statistical sample error (with probability 0.95 and design-effect 1.5) does not exceed:

3.3% for indicators close to 50%,

2.8% for indicators close to 25%,

2.0% for indicators close to 10%,

1.4% for indicators close to 5%.

 

The most favorite national holidays amongst the Ukrainians are:

 

  • Easter (Velykden`)– 81%

  • Christmas (Rizdvo Chrystove)78%

  • New Year (Novyi rik) – 74%

  • International Women`s Day (Mizhnarodnyi zhinochyi den`)37%

  • Victory Day (Den` Peremohy) 35%

  • Trinity (Triitsia) – 34%

  • Independence Day of Ukraine (Den` Nezalezhnosti Ukrainy) – 20%
