Briefly. During the event, the results of the survey "Opinions and views of the population of Ukraine on the environmental consequences of the war", conducted in May 2022, will be presented. The key task of the research was to assess the level of interest of Ukrainians in the consequences of the war for the environment, to identify Ukrainians' perception of the criticality of these consequences for themselves and the country, to identify sources of information about the environmental consequences of the war, level of awareness on this topic. 

If the war continues as it is now, only 42.9% of Ukrainians plan the future of their children and grandchildren in Ukraine.

In the event of a truce and postponement of the war, 54.7% of residens plan the future of their children and grandchildrein Ukaine.

76.8% of Ukrainians agree to plan the future of children and grandchildren in Ukraine with the change of power in Russia to democratic.

Approximately the same affects the planning of the future as Ukraine's accession to NATO or obtaining stronger security guarantees (85.1%) and Russia's capitulation and disarmament (84.5%).

Women have slightly higher safety requirements than men. In particular, in the event of a truce, 57.1% of men agree to plan the future of children or grandchildren in Ukraine, compared to 52.7% of women.

The further west, the less the link between danger and future planning in Ukraine. For example, if the war continues, 34.8% of residents of the East, 38.8% of residents of the South, 44.6% of residents of the central and northern regions, 48.5% of residents of western Ukraine plan the future of children and grandchildren in Ukraine.

Among residents of eastern Ukraine there is much higher desire to plan the future of children and grandchildren abroad, regardless of development of events: 4.3% of residents of the East, 1.8% of residents of the South, 1.5% of residents of the Center and 1% of residents of the West.

The research was conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology from 3 to 18 May 2022 by order of CASE Ukraine. Based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers, 2,000 respondents aged 18 and older living in all regions of Ukraine (except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) were interviewed. The statistical sampling error does not exceed 2.4%.

During May 13-18, 2022, the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted its own all-Ukrainian public opinion poll "Omnibus". By the method of computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) based on a random sample of mobile telephone numbers (with random generation of telephone numbers and subsequent statistical weighing) were interviewed 2,000 respondents living in all regions of Ukraine (except AR of Crimea). The survey was conducted with adult (aged 18 and older) citizens of Ukraine who at the time of the survey lived in Ukraine (within the limits controlled by the Ukrainian authorities until February 24, 2022). The sample did not include residents of territories that were temporarily not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities until February 24, 2022 (AR of Crimea, Sevastopol, some districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions), and the survey was not conducted with citizens who went abroad after February 24, 2022.

Formally, under normal circumstances, the statistical error of such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.1) did not exceed 2.4% for indicators close to 50%, 2.1% for indicators close to 25%, 1.5% - for indicators close to 10%, 1.1% - for indicators close to 5%. Under the conditions of the war, in addition to this formal error, a certain systematic deviation is added, but the results obtained still remain highly representative and allow a fairly reliable analysis of public moods of the population.
