On September 8-20, 2019, Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted an own all-Ukrainian public opinion poll. Data were collected from 1025 respondents living in 110 settlements (PSU) in all oblasts of Ukraine (except for the AR of Crimea) with the method of personal interviewing. The sample was stochastic, 4-staged, and is representative of the population of Ukraine aged 18 and above.

In Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts survey was conducted only in the territories that are controlled by the Ukrainian government.

The statistical sampling error (with a probability of 0.95 and for a design effect of 1.5) does not exceed: 4.7% — for indexes close to 50%, 4.1% — for indexes close to 25%, 2.9% — for indexes close to 10%, 2.1% — for indexes close to 5%.

• 9.6% of respondents have had experience in purchasing airline tickets in the last 1.5 years (7.1% of them have purchased tickets with international connection, 1.6% - with the connection within Ukraine, 0.9% - with both international and domestic connection).

• Among those who have experienced the purchase of airline tickets (that is, among 88 respondents who said they have purchased airline tickets in the past year and a half), 57.6% say that low fares are the most important factor in choosing an airline, 25.5% mention high level of service, 14.8% mention punctuality.

• At the same time, with all characteristics being the same, 39.3% of respondents who had experience in purchasing airline tickets would prefer foreign airlines, 26.8% - Ukrainian airlines. Also, 27.1% of respondents see no difference in purchasing from foreign or Ukrainian airlines.

• The respondents were also asked the question "How do you feel about the following airlines operating in Ukraine?" regarding UIA, Wizz Air, Ryan Air, SkyUp, Ernest Airlines, MotorSich. The table below shows the results for those who have had the experience of purchasing tickets in the last 1.5 years, sorted by the balance of positive-negative attitude:

• Respondents were also asked “Ukraine International Airlines have faced competition from both international and Ukrainian airlines. Would you agree to pay a higher price for the flights to protect UIA and its employees?”. Of the respondents who had experience in purchasing tickets, 48.6% said “no” or “rather no”. Instead, 24.6% of respondents are ready to pay more (another 26.9% are undecided or refused to answer).
